Writing Article Guidance for Al-Iqtishad: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah

Editor Policies

Writing articles for Al-Iqtishad: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah is published four times a year, every June and December, containing papers/articles about ideas and research written by experts, academics, practitioners, and reviewers in the fields of Islamic economics, sharia finance, business ethics, and related studies.

General Requirements:

  1. The length of the article is between 4000 to 7000 words (including bibliography, notes, and tables).
  2. Attach a statement that the article has not been published in any other publication and in any form.
  3. Each article will undergo a plagiarism check.
  4. The article consists of 9 components as outlined below.

The sections in the article do not use chapters (except for Research Findings and Discussion), but the structure can be identified from the first sentence in each section.

Article Components:

  1. Title
    • Maximum 15 words.
    • Font: Times New Roman, size 14, left-aligned, bold.
    • Title must be written in English and Indonesia.
  1. Author’s Name
    • Written directly below the title using Times New Roman, size 12, bold, without academic titles or abbreviations.
    • Include the institution name and email address below the author’s name.
  1. Abstract
    • Maximum 250 words, written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia in one paragraph.
    • Includes: research objectives, methodology, data analysis, and research findings.
    • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced.
  1. Keywords
    • Maximum of 4 words/phrases.
  1. Introduction
    • Heading: INTRODUCTION (Capital letters, Times New Roman, size 12, bold).
    • Includes: background of the study, problem gap, urgency and rationale, problem-solving plan, research objectives, and hypothesis development.
  1. Method
  • Explains:
    • Approach, scope/object of research
    • Operational definitions
    • Location, population, and sample/informants
    • Data sources and tools
    • Data collection techniques
    • Data analysis techniques
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, normal
  1. Findings and Discussion
    • Present findings clearly and relate them to the research scope.
    • Use tables, graphs, or charts when necessary (each must be numbered and titled).
    • Discuss the findings logically, connecting them with relevant literature.

  1. Conclusion
    • A concise summary of findings and discussion.
    • The conclusion should answer the research questions and reflect the research objectives.
    • Include suggestions or contributions for practical application or further research.
    • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, normal
  1. References
    • Use APA Style (APA- American Psychological Association Style).
    • Include references from journals and books published within the last 10 years.
    • It is recommended to use Mendeley or Zotero.
